With an amazing clarity of vision, the Founder of the Young Women’s Christian Association of Madras, Hon. (Mrs.) Emily Kinnaird envisaged a movement which has spanned a period of more than 130 years that continues to be a source of inspiration for women till date. YWCA of Madras is situated on the busy Poonamallee High Road in a lush and lovely campus HOUSING MANY ‘Projects’ and ‘Department’ catering to the underprivileged sections of society. The proceeds gained from the International Guest House, Hostels, Halls & Space etc. help in funding most of the urban and rural community projects.
The YWCA of Madras endeavours to emancipate women and girls, irrespective of race, culture and creed. The Organisation ensures that aid is generated and made available to deprived communities

Our Vision is of a fully inclusive world where social justice, peace, health care, relief to the poor, education, employment, human dignity, freedom and preservation of the environment are promoted and sustained by women's leadership.
