CAMPUS COMMITTEE (ADHOC COMMITTEE)

The Campus Committee of YWCA of Madras is a dedicated group committed to fostering greenery and environmental sustainability within our organization's premises. As an ad hoc committee, we prioritize the conservation and enhancement of green spaces within the YWCA campus, ensuring a vibrant and eco-friendly environment for all.

Our Mission:

At the Campus Committee, our mission is twofold: to nurture and preserve the rich natural heritage of the YWCA campus and to promote environmental stewardship and awareness among our members and the wider community. Through our efforts, we aim to create a lush, green oasis that serves as a sanctuary for both people and wildlife.

What We Do:
Greenery Maintenance:One of our primary responsibilities is to oversee the maintenance and care of the greenery within the YWCA campus. This includes tending to the existing trees, plants, and gardens, as well as introducing new greenery to enhance the beauty and biodiversity of our surroundings. We work closely with horticultural experts and arborists to ensure the health and vitality of our green spaces.

Tree Preservation:The YWCA campus is home to many old and majestic trees that are not only a source of beauty but also serve as vital habitats for birds and other wildlife. As stewards of the campus, we are committed to preserving these trees and safeguarding their longevity. We implement tree care practices such as pruning, watering, and protection measures to ensure that these valuable assets remain healthy and thriving for generations to come.
