FELLOWSHIP
The Fellowship Committee aims at facilitating and enriching fellowship with God and with each other. The meetings of the Committee help members to love God with all our heart, soul, strength and mind. (Luke 10.37), to encourage one another and build each other up (1 Thessalonians 5:11), to stir up one another to love and good works (Hebrews 10.24-25) and so fulfil the aim of YWCA –‘By love serve one another’.
The activities are tailored to meet this aim:
- Monthly Devotion for Staff: Members share the Word of God with the Staff of YWCA and pray with them generally or on one to one basis if requested.
- Monthly Retreat for members: This is a time of fellowship around the Word of God and is open to all members of YWCA.
- Annual Holy Communion Service for members and staff: An ordained Pastor conducts the service and celebrates the Lord’s Supper. In view of the space constraints in our Chapel, two services are conducted for staff and members separately.
- Lenten Mediations: Meditation on the ‘Seven words of the Lord Jesus on the Cross’ are led by Members during the Lenten season on Fridays on the Google Meet platform.
- Christmas Carol Service: Leading Choirs of Chennai herald the season of joy and peace on the last Saturday of November every year.
- Easter Musical Evening: The Risen Lord is celebrated in song every year on the Saturday following Easter and many choirs participate in this event.
- Annual Bible Quiz: Separate Quiz is conducted for Staff in Tamil and in English for members on a book of the Bible.
- YMCA Week of Prayer: The YMCA week of prayer is celebrated along with YMCA and it involved a monetary contribution to a charity, cottage prayer meeting at member’s residence, a day of prayer and Jeevan Jothi program for the children of the Girls Town and Boys Town
- Visits to sick members: Members of the Fellowship Committee visit the sick members and pray with them.
