Women

NAVJEEVAN on Main Campus

This is a half-way home for rehabilitation of mentally-ill women who have been cured, but are ostracized by their families. Here they are taught a skill that enables them to be self-reliant and self-sufficient.

Ways to Volunteer?

  Entertain the residents

  Initiate a kitchen garden project

Teach a craft that is marketable

PUBLIC AFFAIRS AND SOCIAL ISSUES [PASI]

Our goal is to empower the women and girl-child. Through this forum, we organize talks by professionals to the Self-Help Groups (in the community) on relevant issues such as family-planning, health, hygiene, HIV, cancer awareness, RTI Act, sexual harassment, etc. On occasion, street plays are also enacted in the slum areas. We also have a good network with other NGOs.

Ways to Volunteer?

Identify issues that are relevant to the needs of the general population, women and students; as well as identify the right resource persons to address them

Organize discussions on current events, quizzes or school/college competitions

RURAL DEVELOPMENT PROJECT [RDP] AT MUDICHUR

This project organizes tailoring classes at Mathoor and Pondur villages, near Mudichur. Self-Help Groups in Pushpagiri, Mathoor and Panroti are also under this umbrella. We hold regular health and dental camps here. There is also a special training course for computer and English speaking for Women.res

Ways to Volunteer?

Counsel them on dealing with abuse and alcoholism

Advocate the benefits of higher education for their girl-child
